These Terms govern your use of Catalyst’s website, Discord bot, account-connection pages and automation tools (the “Service”). “Catalyst”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the provider of the Service.
Read these Terms before connecting an account. By connecting an account after being given the opportunity to review these Terms, you agree to them.
1. Who can use Catalyst
You must satisfy Discord’s applicable minimum-age requirements and the age, eligibility and access requirements of every platform or integration you connect.
If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on your behalf before you use Catalyst and supervise your use. This does not remove responsibilities that the law places on Catalyst.
Catalyst is not offered for use by or on behalf of:
- Students undertaking courses at colleges, sixth forms, universities or other post-16 institutions in England.
- Other people over compulsory school age who are entered for examinations for regulated qualifications in England.
These restrictions address the cheating-services provisions in Part 4, Chapter 1 of the Skills and Post-16 Education Act 2022.
You must not use Catalyst in connection with an examination, test, controlled assessment, qualification coursework or other assessed work that you must complete personally without automated assistance. This includes generating, transforming, reviewing, explaining or submitting such work where that assistance is prohibited.
Provide complete, accurate and current eligibility information where reasonably requested. Do not misrepresent your circumstances or bypass restrictions. We may request proportionate evidence and refuse or restrict access where eligibility cannot reasonably be established.
2. What Catalyst does
Catalyst automates supported tasks on connected educational accounts. It currently focuses on Sparx Science questions and flashcards.
The Service may discover homework, schedule jobs, generate answers, enter and submit responses, and provide progress updates through Discord. Website demonstrations are illustrative unless identified as live account information.
Catalyst is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sparx Learning, Discord, your school or your sign-in provider.
3. Instructions and authorisation
Connecting an account authorises Catalyst to access it for connection checks, homework discovery and functions you request. Starting a job authorises entering and submitting answers within its selected scope. Weekly automation authorises recurring checks and jobs under your chosen settings until disabled.
Only connect accounts you own or have explicit permission to manage. You must have authority to permit the actions you request.
Withdraw authorisation by disabling automation or disconnecting the account. Cancellation takes effect as soon as reasonably practical. Actions already underway may finish, and completed submissions may not be reversible.
4. Login options and security
Catalyst offers password login and manual login where supported.
Password login allows Catalyst to retain and use the login details you provide for authorised sign-in. Manual login lets you sign in through the connection page without sending Catalyst your password. Both methods may retain signed-in sessions for authorised jobs.
Sessions can grant account access without a password being entered again. Keep your Discord account, connection links, verification codes and session tokens secure. Do not post credentials in public channels or support messages. Contact support promptly about suspected unauthorised access.
5. School and platform rules
Schools and connected platforms set their own rules about account access, automation and AI assistance. Catalyst does not grant permission to disregard those rules.
Establish that the assistance you request is permitted. Do not misrepresent automated work as unaided work where disclosure is required.
Using automation may lead to restrictions or other action by a school or platform. We do not promise that use will be undetected or accepted. These Terms do not bind those organisations.
6. Free early access
Catalyst is free during early access. No payment is required for the free early-access offering.
Early access does not create a paid subscription or authorise future charges. Any paid offering will explain prices and applicable billing and cancellation terms before you agree.
Access may be limited by invitations, account limits, supported features or capacity. Promotions apply only where expressly offered under published conditions and have no cash value unless stated otherwise.
7. Scheduling and availability
You can queue homework with Start Homework or enable weekly automation. Jobs run one at a time. Queueing or selecting a schedule does not guarantee exact start or completion times.
Jobs may queue, pause, fail or require attention because of connection issues, verification, platform changes, capacity or errors. Monitor updates and leave time to finish outstanding work yourself. A queued or running status does not mean homework is complete.
We may maintain, update or temporarily suspend parts of the Service. Where practical, we will announce significant planned interruptions.
8. Answers and results
Catalyst generates and submits answers automatically. Answers may be incorrect, incomplete or unsuitable for a question.
We will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill but do not guarantee correct answers to every question, support for every interaction, completion before deadlines, uninterrupted access or a particular grade, mark, streak or educational outcome.
Check important answers, submissions and completion records on the connected platform. Updates may be delayed. Nothing here removes obligations or remedies provided by law.
9. Privacy
The Privacy Notice explains what information we process, why we use it, recipients, retention and your rights.
Disconnection is different from deletion. It does not reverse submissions or automatically erase every associated record. Do not provide another person’s information without appropriate authority.
10. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use Catalyst for prohibited assessments or unlawful activity.
- Access accounts or information without permission.
- Share, sell or transfer sessions or connection links.
- Resell access without our written agreement.
- Bypass account isolation, access restrictions or job controls.
- Attack, overload or deliberately disrupt Catalyst or connected platforms.
- Introduce malicious material or exploit vulnerabilities.
- Harass staff or users.
- Copy or distribute protected Catalyst material without permission, except where permitted by law.
Report vulnerabilities privately to support. Do not access or retain other users’ information.
11. Intellectual property
Rights in Catalyst’s original software, branding, website materials and protected content belong to their respective rights holders.
You receive limited, personal, non-exclusive permission to use the Service under these Terms. Ownership is not transferred and proprietary code may not be redistributed without permission.
Third-party software remains subject to its licences. Platform names and third-party educational materials remain the property of their respective rights holders.
12. Suspension and leaving
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach, unauthorised access, abuse, security risk or legal requirement. Where practical, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity for review. Immediate action may be needed to protect accounts or comply with law.
You may stop using Catalyst at any time. Disable recurring automation and disconnect accounts you no longer want Catalyst to access.
13. Responsibility
Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Subject to those rights, responsibility for loss depends on applicable law, including whether it resulted from our breach and was reasonably foreseeable. We do not accept responsibility merely because a requested academic outcome is not achieved or a third-party platform changes its service.
Catalyst is for personal use. We do not undertake to support business operations or guarantee business income, profit or continuity.
14. Changes
Supported features and platforms may change as Catalyst develops. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably practical.
We will normally give at least 14 days’ notice of material changes to these Terms through Discord or the website. Urgent legal or security changes may require shorter notice, with an explanation.
Changes will not retrospectively authorise additional account access or introduce charges without agreement. Where required, we will request fresh acceptance. If you disagree, disable automation and stop using Catalyst before revised Terms take effect.
15. Contact and complaints
Email support@catalystsolver.com or use support in the Catalyst Discord server.
Include the relevant job ID and a description of the issue. Do not include passwords, verification codes or session tokens. Contacting support does not remove your right to other legal remedies.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without removing mandatory consumer protections or rights to bring proceedings in another court available where you live.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue where possible. Delayed enforcement does not waive a right.
These Terms do not transfer connected-account ownership or create an employment or partnership relationship. Authority to access an account is limited to authorised functions.
